Sound Healing

I am of Celtic heritage born in Wales in the land of "Song & Heart". Ever since I can remember music has been part of my life, my life revolved around sound. In my family I had a mother and grandfather who were blessed with amazing voices and a grandmother whose sensitivity to the sounds of nature i.e. the wind in the trees, bird song etc. brought me to a new understanding of the power of sound and gave me a love for nature that has never left me.

My years of singing in choirs and playing the trumpet in the school orchestra also gave me an understanding of sound in a different way. In my childhood sound was a medium that I always used to de-stress in the form of singing or if I wanted to connect with the deeper part of myself then I would find a quiet spot and listen to nature. I always knew how powerful this kind of listening to sound was as it touched something very deep in my own heart.

To find the words and ability to be able to explain this heart felt knowledge I had as a child, as an adult I have explored various healing methods which have helped me. This has led to me to working with a diverse range of groups from various organisations; becoming a tutor for the college of Sound Healing, gaining my adult education certificate (PETEL) from NEWI as well becoming a qualified Life Coach with Newcastle College.

What I have learned from my own life experiences though has been my first and formost teacher, which has brought many coincidences and people into my life. One of those many coincidences was just as I had got started to become interested in the Ayurvedic forms of sound I went on my first holiday to Egypt. Whilst there I was lucky enough to be in a temple where there were a group of people using sound inside one of the enclosed parts. I listened intently to the power of their sounds felt the vibrations emanating from the stone temple and I felt myself lifted. Unfortunately I was not able to converse with this group as their spoken language was different from mine but it started my ever deepening understanding into the power of sound and created a stronger search into the many ways of using sound to help the body. My experience over the years has taught me that everything is in vibration.

We are bombarded in today's society by a variety of sounds that are man made and have become ignored but are not necessarily lying dormant in the background; they are very actively playing a part in our lives. In my workshops my aim has been to help people to get a better understanding of sound, to help them to free up their voices by connecting to their heart, thereby helping them to become a more free and balanced spiritual/person.

The basic principle for Sound Therapy is that of resonance. Every object is in a state of vibration and therefore creates a sound; this includes the various parts of our body, such as our organs, muscles, bones, etc. If these parts of our body are vibrating at their normal healthy frequency, we call it a "State of Health". If however a portion of our body begins to vibrate at a frequency which is not in harmony with the rest of the body; we call it a "State of Dis-ease".

Using sound to project the correct resonant frequency to the part of the body which is vibrating out of harmony, it may be possible to put it back into harmony; returning it to a normal state of health.

Rudolph Steiner said: - "There will come a time when a diseased condition will not be described as it is today by physicians and psychologists, but it will be spoken of in musical terms, as one would speak of a piano that was out of tune."

It may help with:-

  • Illness
  • Relaxation
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Balancing the body
  • Lightening the moment
  • Healing trauma
  • Relieving pain
  • Connecting to the inner self

Using sound to help heal the body is not new and has been used for many years by different cultures.

Sound is a powerful tool; it connects us as people to each other and to our environment.

The treatment is carried out fully clothed whilst lying down on a couch. A combination of Natural Touch, vocal sounds, various musical instruments and background music is used to correct the energy imbalances.

Treatments can take approximately 1hr depending on client's needs

Cost £30.00
